Do You Need to Water After Seeding?
In the fall, watering isn't 100% necessary. If you have an irrigation system, great — use it. But if you don't, don't worry. More than half of our customers have no irrigation systems at all, and we still see excellent results.
How to Water Correctly
Mimic Natural Rain
Long waterings followed by long periods of dryness — that's what naturally occurs in most yards without irrigation systems.
40 Minutes Per Zone
Water each zone for 40 minutes, then allow no watering for the rest of the week. Alternatively, water twice a week with no watering in between.
Avoid Daily Watering
Do not water every other day, and absolutely not every day. Overwatering is counterproductive and does not mimic natural conditions.
What If You Can't Water?
Don't Worry
A lot of people can't water their entire lawns — and that's okay. We tell customers not to stress about it if irrigation isn't possible.
Focus Small Areas
If you have a small area that's struggling, you can direct your watering efforts there rather than trying to cover the whole lawn.
Results Still Excellent
More than half our customers have no irrigation system, and we see great results through proper aeration, overseed, slice seeding, seed timing, and seed selection.
