Slice Seeder Demonstration

See a heavy-duty slice seeder in action — the right tools, the right seed, and the right time of year make all the difference.

What Makes This Slice Seeder Different

This isn't the average slice seeder you'd find at a rental company. It's a heavy-duty machine built for serious results.

Heavy-Duty Build

Pneumatic tires and a hydraulically driven system that moves forward and backwards for maximum control and performance.

Adjustable Knife Depth

The set of knives can be calibrated to cut anywhere from a light scarification of the soil surface up to a full half-inch deep.

Precision Seed Dropping

A dedicated seed box with a high degree of calibration ensures seed is dropped accurately and covered back up as the machine passes.

The Right Tools for the Right Results

Having the right equipment is a big contributing factor to getting the right results. The slice seeder cuts into the soil, drops seed, and covers it back up in a single pass — thorough, efficient, and effective even in bare soil with no topsoil and no fertilizer.

A Real-World Test on Bare Soil

A unique opportunity arose — a freshly cleared area of bare soil, left untouched for a week or two. One single path was made straight down with the slice seeder, with no topsoil added and no fertilizer applied. The only variables: the right methods, the right seed, and the right time of year.

No Topsoil

The test area was bare soil only — no amendments, no topsoil added before seeding.

No Fertilizer

Zero fertilizer was applied. The test relies purely on proper seeding technique and timing.

Optimal Timing

August 15th to September 30th is the ideal window — and this demonstration falls right in that range.

Slice Seeder vs. Aerator

An aerator can do a solid job in bare areas, but it tends to make more of a mess and may not be as thorough as the slice seeder. The slice seeder cuts, seeds, and covers in one clean pass — making it the preferred choice for precision overseeding and bare-soil establishment.
